A new study shows that men struggle to think clearly when talking to beautiful women. Dutch psychologists tested the cognitive abilities of 40 heterosexual men before and after they spoke with an attractive woman. The results showed that men became markedly less competent at tasks like math and word puzzles – and the more captivated they were, the worse they scored.

In a similar test, women showed no changes in mental ability after talking to handsome men. The researchers suggested that evolution may have wired men to put so much mental effort into impressing a potential mate that there isn’t much brainpower left for anything else.

So, if a man blanks on his name around a pretty woman, he can just blame evolution.
