Dylan McWilliams, a 20-year-old from Colorado, has faced three wildlife attacks within 36 months.

Most recently, McWilliams was bodyboarding off the Hawaiian coast when an eight-foot tiger shark took a bite out of his leg. He managed to escape with a wound requiring seven stitches.

A year prior, he was camping in Colorado when a black bear dragged him out of his tent by the head. He was flown to hospital, where doctors stapled his scalp back together.

Before that, he was bitten by a rattlesnake while hiking in Utah. Luckily, he took in only a small amount of venom, so he was only briefly ill afterwards.

“I’m either really lucky or really unlucky,” said McWilliams.
