In 2014, Paul Rosolie agreed to be swallowed alive by an anaconda. The conservationist, slathered in pig’s blood, approached the snake on all fours to entice it into eating him. Recalling the ordeal, Rosolie said, “It was terrifying.”
The 20-foot, 250-pound green anaconda constricted Rosolie for over an hour. When Rosolie thought his arm was going to break, his team rushed in to free him before he was eaten. “The last thing I remember was her mouth open wide, and everything went black. I went limp. I came moments away from having my ribcage explode,” he recounted. Rosolie explained that the stunt’s purpose, which was filmed for a nature documentary, was to shock viewers into supporting rainforest preservation. “If letting a snake eat me helps save the rainforest, so be it.” |
