A surprise extra passenger showed up mid-way through a Ryanair flight to Spain last week after a pregnant woman gave birth on board!
She was helped by medical staff on board the aircraft and an ambulance and full medical team were waiting on the tarmac when the plane landed.
But the story didn’t end there. According to the family, Ryanair later issued a charge of €50 for the “additional passenger,” citing their policy on infants traveling without their own seat. The fee, typically applied during the booking process for babies under two years old, was added retroactively in what the airline called a “standard procedure.”
Social media quickly took notice, with many commenters expressing disbelief and outrage. One user wrote, “This could only happen on Ryanair.” Another joked, “Still cheaper than paying for an extra bag.”
