Since 1998, the Vegetable Orchestra has been making sweet music on savory vegetables.
Before each performance 100 to 150 kilograms of fresh vegetables are purchased. Then it takes two to three hours of time to carve them into suitable instruments.
More than 150 types of instruments have been invented since the band’s inception including carrot flutes, pumpkin drums, leek violins, onion maracas, and many others.
After the show, the leftover vegetables are cooked into a soup and served to the audience.
It’s music that’s easy on the ears and the colon.
