Legend has it that a magical goose appears on Christmas Eve depositing sweets in the nooks and crannies of Polish towns. Children take part in a scavenger hunt by following clues left by their parents and trying to collect as many goodies as they can find. But the real prize is the goose itself. Just before sunset, a goose is dressed in a red coat and released in the town square. Whoever catches it gets to have the magical goose for Christmas dinner. |
